Lucknow/Sitapur: The golden jubilee celebrations of Jawahar Lal Nehru Polytechnic Mahmoodabad commenced with grandeur and enthusiasm, marking 50 years of excellence in technical education. The milestone event celebrated the institution’s rich legacy and its contribution to shaping skilled professionals over the decades.
The event was inaugurated by former acting Chief Minister Dr. Ammar Rizvi, who attended as the chief guest. Reflecting on the institution’s history, he shared that the polytechnic was established on October 28, 1975, during his tenure as Education Minister in Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized that the institution was founded with the vision of empowering youth from rural and backward regions through technical education and self-reliance.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rizvi remarked, “Knowledge is an eternal asset that cannot be stolen or diminished by time.” He underlined the transformative power of education in building confidence, awareness, and progress, adding that educational institutions are not merely centers for awarding degrees but also hubs of character building, skill development, and social consciousness.
He expressed satisfaction over the institution’s growth into a reputed educational center, noting that its alumni are excelling both nationally and internationally. He credited the dedication of faculty and administration for sustaining the institution’s legacy with responsibility and success over the past five decades.
The programme was presided over by Mahmoodabad MLA Asha Maurya, who praised the institute’s role in regional development and its contribution to shaping the future of young students. She highlighted the institution’s impact in providing quality education and creating opportunities for the youth.
